‘You’re crazy, Monika!’
‘I could never do what you do’
Those are the comments I would hear on a daily basis, whenever I mentioned I started my coaching business alongside my 9-5 job.
And you see…I really liked my daily job.
Being an Executive Assistant and then becoming a Chief of Staff was exciting, challenging, included my favourite colour coding….
And was all about making people’s lives better.
I didn’t need an additional income.
So why did I do it?
I discovered through coaching I can make a real difference.
Bring value to people’s lives I never thought was possible.
And watch them make changes they never thought they were capable of doing.
It felt -still does!- more rewarding than anything I’ve ever tried before.
Coaching turned out to be my purpose.
Something that I wholeheartedly believe I am here to do.
But it wasn’t until I found myself travelling through SE Asia when I realised…
The world is a big place.
With so many people…
…whom I could help live more fulfilling lives.
And that’s when I knew.
I knew I wanted big things and I wanted to be able to reach people all over the world.
And just like that…
I became unapologetically focused on making it happen:
• I would wake up at 4am and go to bed past midnight
• I would pass on hundreds of social activities
• I would listen to audiobooks on my way to work and master the art of 28minutes long power naps
It wasn’t easy.
And very often I would be too tired to be able to fall asleep…
But I knew where I was going.
Every time I reminded myself WHY I started, it made me want to keep going.
You know what’s funny?
In a month time I’m going to Canada.
And you know what?
In Quebec City I’ll meet for a coffee with one of my former coaching clients.
And we wouldn’t have worked together, if I didn’t make a decision to make it all happen.
So yes, I may be pretty crazy.
But I’m not giving up.
Because this coffee in Quebec is going to taste better than any coffee I’ve ever had.
And if you want a coffee this special yourself…
Make a decision to make it happen.
Get clear on WHY you’re doing it.
Find people who won’t let you give up.
Become unapologetically focused…
And work on it every day.
Because the truth is…
If I could pull this off, so can you.
As it all starts with this crazy decision to…just do it.?
